Circuit Training

Circuit training is an excellent way to get in shape and have a fun, fast, effective workout. NESTA (National Exercise and Sports Trainers Association) offers circuit training education for fitness trainers. The circuit training education is integrated into the group exercise instructor certification and as part of the training within the personal fitness trainer certification program.

Circuit training is a combination of upper body, lower body, core and full body exercises done in a circuit-type format. Sometimes (not always) circuit training includes cardiovascular training stations in between each strength training station.

A 30-minute circuit training class can burn between 400 – 800 calories. Much of the caloric discrepancies depend on the circuit training format and class intensity.

If you would like to become a fitness trainer who teaches circuit training, visit the NESTA web site.
